The arrest and enforcement of the prison sentence against Qane‘ Khateri a civil rights activist from Sanandaj

According to reports received by the Hana Human Rights Organization:
On Monday, July 7, 2025, Qane‘ Khateri, a civil rights activist from Sanandaj, turned himself in to the city’s central prison to begin serving his prison sentence.

Previously, he had been sentenced to eight months of discretionary imprisonment by Branch One of the Sanandaj Revolutionary Court, presided over by Judge Mostafa Azizi, on charges of “propaganda against the regime.”

According to the information received, Qane‘ Khateri was initially arrested on Thursday, February 6, 2025 by security forces without a court order and was transferred to the Sanandaj Central Prison. He was eventually released temporarily on February 20, 2025 after posting a 500 million toman bail.

It is worth noting that this civil rights activist had also been summoned to the Sanandaj Intelligence Office on January 16, 2025, where he was interrogated for several hours and then released.
