Hana Human Rights Organization has learned that on Monday, 22 December 2025, Adel Yousfinejad, 53, and Ako Yousfinejad, the father and brother of the late environmental activist and athlete Chiako Yousfinejad from Sanandaj, were arrested after being summoned to the Intelligence Office in the city.
According to the information received, the two citizens had been summoned in recent days via telephone to the Intelligence Office of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps in Sanandaj and were arrested after reporting to the institution.
As of the time of publication of this report, no precise information is available regarding the reasons for their arrest or the charges brought against them.
It should be noted that Chiako Yousfinejad, an environmental activist and athlete from Sanandaj, died on Sunday, 27 July 2025, after four days in the intensive care unit of Kowsar Hospital in Sanandaj. He had suffered severe burns while taking part in efforts to contain a large wildfire in the Abidar mountain area.
