Hana: On Saturday, August 30, 2025 (Shahrivar 8, 1404), Shahram Hatami, son of Esmat, married and a resident of Orumiyeh, was transferred to the Central Prison of this city for the execution of his prison sentence.
According to information received by Hana Human Rights Organization, Mr. Hatami received the enforcement order of his prison sentence from Branch 9 of the Implementation of Sentences of the Orumiyeh Revolutionary Court on August 26, 2025 (Shahrivar 4, 1404). He was subsequently transferred to Orumiyeh Central Prison on Saturday, August 30, 2025, to serve his sentence.
Reports indicate that this Kurdish citizen had previously been sentenced on May 18, 2025 (Ordibehesht 29, 1404), by Branch 2 of the Orumiyeh Revolutionary Court to two years of discretionary imprisonment, two years’ ban from social media activity, and the confiscation of his mobile phone as a tool of crime. The verdict was later reduced by Branch 23 of the West Azerbaijan Province Court of Appeals on June 24, 2025 (Tir 3, 1404), to six months and one day of discretionary imprisonment.
It is worth noting that Mr. Hatami was previously arrested on September 30, 2024 (Mehr 8, 1403), at his private residence by security forces. He was released three days later on bail of 8 billion rials (800 million tomans), pending trial proceedings.
Furthermore, on March 14, 2025 (Esfand 24, 1403), Shahram Hatami was summoned to Branch 6 of the Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor’s Office in Orumiyeh, where he was formally charged with “propaganda against the state, promoting and encouraging unveiling, collaboration with opposition media, and insulting ethnic groups.”
