Selmaz Hassanzadeh was released from Orumiyeh Prison on bail.

Hana: On Tuesday, August 13, 2024, Selmaz Hassanzadeh, the sister of Mohammad Hassanzadeh, one of the martyrs of the “Woman, Life, Freedom” revolution, was temporarily released from Orumiyeh Prison on bail of 500 million tomans after 14 days of detention and an eight-day hunger strike.

According to received reports, on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, Selmaz Hassanzadeh began a hunger strike in solitary confinement in Orumiyeh Prison in protest against her continued detention, lack of clarity regarding her situation, and being deprived of the opportunity to contact or visit her family and access a lawyer.

On Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at 11:00 AM, Selmaz Hassanzadeh was arrested by security forces with the use of force and was then transferred to the women's ward of Orumiyeh Prison on Wednesday, July 31. On the same day, at 1:00 PM, her father, Ahmad Hassanzadeh, was also arrested by the same forces while returning home, and was temporarily released after posting bail of 4 billion tomans.

It is worth mentioning that after the arrests, the security forces confiscated the mobile phones of Selmaz and her father, Ahmad Hassanzadeh, and then also confiscated the mobile phone of her mother, Daya "Azimeh."

Previously, on September 27, 2023, Selmaz Hassanzadeh, along with three other citizens named Sheida Rezaei, Simin, and her sister Shirin Khayyat, was arrested by security forces without any judicial documents at the Bukan-Saqqez checkpoint. They were released at 2:00 AM after being interrogated for several hours at the Intelligence Office detention center in Bukan.

Additionally, on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, Selmaz Hassanzadeh, along with her father, Ahmad Hassanzadeh, was summoned to the Intelligence Office in Bukan and subjected to interrogation.

Mohammad Hassanzadeh, 28 years old, lost his life on November 16, 2022, during the nationwide protests in the city of Bukan due to direct gunfire by suppressive forces.
