According to reports received by the Hana Human Rights Organization, this morning, Tuesday, March 25, 2025, security forces of the Islamic Republic prevented the celebration of Nowruz in the village of Legez, Bukan.
The event, which was planned to be held on a large scale, was stopped by the intervention of security forces just hours before the program was to begin. The government forces created a security blockade around the location, preventing the celebration from taking place.
At the same time, several organizers of the event were summoned by security agencies, interrogated, and threatened.
This comes after local authorities and event organizers had previously announced that permission for the celebration had been granted. However, in the final hours before the program was set to begin, the issued permit was revoked, and the Nowruz celebration was hindered by security forces.
