On the third anniversary of Zhina (Mahsa) Amini’s death, on Saturday, September 13, 2025, a memorial ceremony was held in Cologne, Germany, organized by the Hana Human Rights Organization in collaboration with the Free Human group. The event took place at the Inana Music Academy hall, with the participation of human rights activists, artists, culture and freedom enthusiasts, as well as a number of Iranian and German citizens.
The program began with the screening of two short films about Zhina Amini’s death and the “Woman, Life, Freedom” movement.
This was followed by the recitation of poems by Ahmad Shamlou and Grous Abdolmalkian. The artistic segment of the ceremony continued with performances in Persian, Kurdish, and English. A poem by the Kurdish poet Aram Fathi was read in both Kurdish and German, and a poem by Reza Maqsadi was shown as a film for the audience.
In another part of the ceremony, Shida Ghavami, a Kurdish singer, performed two Kurdish music pieces.
The ceremony was held in a calm and intimate atmosphere, attended by friends and supporters of Zhina Amini and human rights defenders.
