According to reports received by the Hana Human Rights Organization, today, Monday, September 29, 2025, Qaneh Khateri, a civil activist from Sanandaj, was released from Sanandaj Central Prison on bail after serving 85 days in detention.
Mr. Khateri had earlier, on Monday, July 7, 2025, turned himself in to Sanandaj Central Prison to serve the sentence issued by the judiciary. He had been sentenced by Branch 1 of the Sanandaj Revolutionary Court, presided over by Judge Mostafa Azizi, to eight months in prison on the charge of “propaganda against the state.”
This civil activist was previously arrested on Thursday, February 6, 2025, without a judicial warrant by security forces and transferred to Sanandaj Central Prison. He was eventually released on temporary bail of 5 billion rials (500 million tomans) on February 20, 2025.
In addition, Qaneh Khateri had earlier been summoned to the Sanandaj Intelligence Office on January 16, 2025, where he was interrogated for several hours before being released.
