According to reports received by the Hana Human Rights Organization:
Qane Khatari, a civil activist from Sanandaj, has been sentenced to eight months of discretionary imprisonment by Branch One of the Revolutionary Court of Sanandaj, presided over by Judge Mostafa Azizi, on charges of “propaganda against the regime.”
Previously, on January 16, 2025, Khatari had been summoned to the Sanandaj Intelligence Office and was released after several hours of interrogation.
He was later arrested by security forces on February 6, 2025, transferred to the detention center of the Intelligence Office in Sanandaj for interrogation, and subsequently moved to the city’s central prison. On February 20, 2025, he was temporarily released on bail of 5 billion rials (approximately 500 million tomans).
Qane Khatari is a well-known civil activist who has previously been arrested and sentenced for his activism.
