According to information received by the Hana Human Rights Organization, on Thursday, August 21, 2025, a Kurdish soldier named Qader Khorami, from the Siyavan Village in Oshnavieh district, ended his life.
Witnesses reported that Khorrami, who was serving as a conscript in the Kermanshah courthouse, had recently posed for several photos wearing traditional Kurdish clothing and holding his service weapon (a Kalashnikov). This act led to his immediate summons and harsh interrogation by the Intelligence Organization of the IRGC and the police intelligence unit, during which he was subjected to degrading treatment.
A source familiar with the case told Hana: “The psychological pressure from these interrogations and the repeated threats that followed left Qader in a severely distressed mental state, which ultimately drove him to take his own life.”
Hana Human Rights Organization has previously warned about the severe psychological toll of compulsory military service. As of the time of this report, military and security authorities in Kermanshah have issued no official response regarding Qader Khorami’s death.
