According to reports received by the Hana Human Rights Organization, on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, Mousa Omidi — a political activist and the head of the Kurdish United Front in Ilam — was arrested by security forces and taken to an undisclosed location.
Sources report that security agents raided Mr. Omidi’s home without presenting a judicial warrant. During the arrest, they confiscated several of his personal belongings, including his mobile phone, laptop, and a number of books.
Mousa Omidi is a writer, social researcher, and former university professor who was dismissed from his academic post due to his critical views. He had previously been summoned to the Ilam Prosecutor’s Office in March 2023 on charges of “propaganda in favor of groups or organizations opposed to the Islamic Republic of Iran.”
