Pakhshan Azizi, a Kurdish journalist, has been charged for “membership in the opposition groups of the country”

During the recent days, the interrogation session of Pakhshan Azizi, a journalist and Kurdish female activist, was held in the fifth investigation branch of the Evin Security Prosecutor’s Office, and after the charge of “membership in the opposition groups of the country” was explained, her case was issued with an indictment to the 26th branch of the Tehran Revolutionary Court headed by the judge. “Iman Afshari”.

Pakhshan Azizi, 39-year-old newspaper reporter and social worker graduate, former political prisoner from Mahabad, was arrested by government forces in Tehran on August 4, 2023 and was transferred to Ward 209 of Evin Prison.
On Monday, December 20, 2024, after four months of interrogation, she was transferred from ward 209 of Evin prison to the women's ward of this prison.
It should be noted that this female Kurdish activist has been deprived of any human rights since her arrest.
Ms. Azizi was arrested by the government forces on November 16, 2009, during the protest gatherings of Tehran University students against political executions in Kurdistan and was finally released on bail.
