According to reports received by Hana Human Rights Organization, on the night of Saturday, March 1, 2025, several clerics from the Somay Brados, Targavar, Margavar, and Anzal regions of Orumiyeh were summoned by the IRGC Intelligence Protection Unit for declaring Saturday as the beginning of the month of Ramadan.
According to the received reports, the IRGC Intelligence Protection Unit has ordered these clerics to appear at its headquarters at 11 a.m. on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday of this week.
This action by the IRGC is a clear violation of religious rights and freedom of belief. The Islamic Republic has consistently sought to suppress the religious and cultural independence of Kurdish clerics and scholars by exerting pressure on them.
