According to received reports, on Monday, May 26, 2025, Leila Pashayee and Baran Saedi — women’s rights activists and former detainees of the Woman, Life, Freedom revolutionary movement in Sanandaj — were summoned to Branch 2 of the Sanandaj Revolutionary Court, presided over by Judge Mehran Ramezani, where they were faced with two new charges and an increased bail amount.
According to information received by Hana Human Rights Organization from a reliable source, these two civil activists, who had been arrested in March 2025 in connection with organizing International Women’s Day (March 8) events, are now facing charges of:
• Propaganda against the regime, and
• Forming an illegal group.
The bail amount for their temporary release, which was previously set at 500 million tomans each, has now been increased by 100 million tomans, reaching 600 million tomans per person.
Leila Pashayee, originally from Saqqez and residing in Sanandaj, and Baran Saedi, from Sanandaj, had previously faced charges of assembly and collusion against national security and were temporarily released on bail.
