According to received reports, on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, Mousa Omidi, a political activist and the head of the United Kurdish Front in Ilam Province, was summoned to Branch 7 of the Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor’s Office in Ilam on charges of “spreading false information” and “propaganda against the Islamic Republic of Iran.”
According to information received by Hana Human Rights Organization, earlier on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, security forces raided Mr. Omidi’s home without presenting any judicial warrant and arrested him.
During the raid, the security agents confiscated several of Mr. Omidi’s personal belongings, including his mobile phone, laptop, and a number of his books, and took them away.
It is worth noting that Mousa Omidi had previously been summoned to the Ilam Prosecutor’s Office in March 2023 on charges of “propaganda in favor of groups or organizations opposed to the Islamic Republic of Iran.”
