Hana Human Rights Organization has learned that on Wednesday, September 25, 2025 (2 Mehr 1404), Mohammad Hoshmand, son of Omar and a resident of the village of Dartafi in Mariwan county, was sentenced by the Mariwan Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor’s Office, presided over by Judge Rouhi, to one year of imprisonment on the charge of “membership in opposition groups.” The ruling was formally communicated to this Kurdish citizen through an official notice.
According to Hana’s sources, the trial session for Mohammad Hoshmand’s case had previously been held on September 7, 2025 (16 Shahrivar 1404), at the Mariwan Revolutionary Court. The hearing lasted only one minute and took place without the presence of a defense lawyer or the opportunity for him to defend himself.
Mr. Hoshmand had earlier been arrested by security forces on the evening of Friday, May 17, 2025 (27 Ordibehesht 1404), and was temporarily released on bail on June 17, 2025 (28 Khordad 1404), from the Shahramehr detention center in Sanandaj.
