The fire began around 1:30 PM on Thursday, July 24, 2025, and continued until late into the night.

Reports indicate that the wildfire engulfed large areas of the Abidar mountainside, including behind the Children’s Park (Park Kodak), Zagros Residential Area, and Hasanabad neighborhood.

According to the information obtained, firefighting efforts were primarily carried out by local residents and environmental volunteers, while governmental institutions played only a limited role, mostly in transporting the injured.

Two of them, identified as Mohsen Hosseini-Panahi and Hamid Moradi, are in critical condition and are currently being treated in the Intensive Care Unit of Kowsar Hospital in Sanandaj.

Three others — Khabat Amini, Chiako Yousefinejad, and Seyed Mostafa Hajir — suffered burns and respiratory injuries. Several other volunteers also required medical treatment due to smoke inhalation and minor injuries.

It is important to note that the cause of the wildfire remains unknown at the time of this report.
