Hana: On Wednesday, May 21, 2025, Mamosta Ayat Gholami, a Sunni cleric and former imam of the “Mohammad Mostafa” Mosque in Kermanshah, was once again summoned to the Special Clergy Court in Kermanshah.
This summons comes while he had previously been temporarily released from detention on April 26, 2025, after posting a bail of 700 million tomans, pending the outcome of legal proceedings.
Mamosta Gholami, a teacher at a religious seminary, had also been summoned in July 2024 by the Security Department of the Kermanshah Clergy Center and was subsequently banned from all religious activities at the mosque by order of this institution.
In recent years, he has repeatedly faced pressure from security agencies due to his critical positions, including refusal to support state elections, signing a statement condemning the execution of Mamosta Mohammad Khazrnejad, objecting to the arrest of clerics, criticizing the killing of kolbars, and holding Sunni religious ceremonies.
