In recent days, Vahab Khediripour, a resident of Mahabad, was sentenced to 10 months of discretionary imprisonment by the First Branch of the Revolutionary Court of Mahabad on charges of “collaboration with one of the Kurdish opposition parties to the Iranian government.” The verdict was delivered in early March 2025 and was officially communicated to him.
Mr. Khediripour was arrested on January 29, 2025 after being summoned by the Intelligence Office of Mahabad, without being provided any legal documents. He was then transferred to Mahabad prison and later temporarily released on February 19, 2025 after posting a bail of 500 million tomans.
It is worth mentioning that Vahab Khediripour is the cousin of Shamal Khediripour, one of the victims of the “Women, Life, Freedom” revolution, and the brother of Sohrab Khediripour, a member of the Democratic Party of Iranian Kurdistan, who was killed in 2021 by Iranian security forces.
