According to reports received by the Hana Human Rights Organization, on the evening of Thursday, January 8, 2026, a 16-year-old child identified as Mohammad Matin Bagheri, son of Vahid and a resident of Kermanshah Province, was shot with live ammunition by plainclothes security forces in the Maskan area while participating in protests and chanting “Death to Khamenei.” Despite severe injuries and heavy bleeding, he was arrested by these forces and subsequently died inside the vehicle due to excessive blood loss.
According to an informed source and accounts from some detainees who were with him, the child died during transport from the severity of his injuries, and the plainclothes forces later abandoned his body on the side of a major road.
Following this incident, security agencies and the Revolutionary Guard exerted pressure, threats, and intimidation on Mohammad Matin Bagheri’s family, forcing them into silence and warning that his 10-year-old brother would be arrested if they publicized the incident.
His body was buried on January 10, 2026, under security measures at Bagh-e Ferdows Cemetery in Kermanshah.
The Hana Human Rights Organization strongly condemns this act, considering it a blatant violation of the right to life, arbitrary detention, and the illegal use of force against children. Hana calls for an independent, transparent, and impartial investigation into this killing, accountability for those responsible and their commanders, and an end to the pressure on the victim’s family.
