January protests / Mohammad Khezri lost his life in Tehran after being shot by security forces

According to reports received by the Hana Human Rights Organization: on Thursday, January 8, 2026, a 21-year-old young man identified as Mohammad Khezri, a Kurdish (Kurmanji) citizen from the city of Ashkhaneh in Samalqan County, North Khorasan Province, was killed during popular protests in the Bumehen area of Tehran after being directly shot by forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Based on the information received, Mohammad Khezri lost his life after a live bullet fired directly by security forces struck him in the heart.

It should be noted that after a week of searching, his family was able to identify and receive his body in Tehran. His funeral ceremony was held on January 14, 2026, in the village of Chakhmaqloo, located in Ashkhaneh County, North Khorasan Province.
