According to reports received by the Hana Human Rights Organization, on Friday, January 9, 2026, a Kurdish citizen identified as Mehrdad Kermajani, from Kangavar in Kermanshah Province, lost his life during the popular protests in the Gohardasht area of Karaj as a result of direct gunfire by the repressive forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
