January Protests / Hossein Shirkol a Kurdish citizen was killed in Isfahan as a result of direct gunfire by security forces

According to reports received by the Hana Human Rights Organization, on Thursday, 8 January 2026, a 43-year-old Kurdish citizen named Hossein Shirkol, from Zarinabad in Dehloran County, lost his life during popular protests in Isfahan as a result of direct gunfire by the repressive forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

An informed source told Hana that Hossein Shirkol’s family, after five days of persistent efforts, succeeded in receiving his body and ultimately buried him on Wednesday, 14 January 2026, in the village of Bardi, Zarinabad (Pahleh), in Dehloran County.
