January protests / Ali-Ashraf Partovi was killed in Tehran after being directly shot by security forces

According to reports received by the Hana Human Rights Organization, on Thursday, 8 January 2026, a Kurdish citizen identified as Ali-Ashraf Partovi, 40 years old, originally from Kermanshah and residing in Tehran, was killed after being directly shot with live ammunition by the security forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran during popular protests in Tehran, on Sattarkhan Street.

Sources informed Hana that his body was buried on 12 January 2026 at Imamzadeh Mohammad-Taghi Cemetery in the city of Rabat-Karim, Tehran Province.

Ali-Ashraf Partovi was married and the father of two children.
