According to the Hana Human Rights Organization, Reza Rizvandi, a 27-year-old computer engineer from Kermanshah Province, lost his life during the popular protests in Tehran.
A knowledgeable source told HANA that it remains unclear to his family whether Rizvandi was killed by direct gunfire during the protests or died after being detained. The source added that, after days of uncertainty and repeated inquiries with judicial and security authorities, Rizvandi’s family identified his body on January 17, 2026, at Behesht Zahra Cemetery in Tehran and later transferred it to Kermanshah for burial.
It should be noted that Rizvandi’s relatives reported he had left home on the evening of January 8, 2026, and in his last phone call, he mentioned being pursued by security forces.
