IRGC Launches Large-Scale Military Operation in Baneh Border Region

Following the border clashes on July 20 that resulted in the death and injury of at least two members of Iran’s armed forces, a significant number of Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) troops and military equipment were deployed to the border areas of Baneh County on July 22.

According to HANA sources, IRGC units have advanced along the border strip in search of tunnels allegedly used for unofficial cross-border movement. This large-scale military mobilization has significantly heightened concerns over the safety of kolbars (border porters), who frequently rely on these routes for livelihood.

In recent days, additional reports have emerged of direct shootings targeting kolbars, resulting in several injuries — further intensifying fears within the local community.
