Colleagues of the Hana Human Rights Organization in Mahabad have reported the arrest of three more citizens by security forces in the city.
According to Hana’s sources, on December 14 and 16, 2024, at least three more citizens, including a woman, were arrested by security forces. The individuals have been identified as “Salar Shams Borhan,” “Abdollah Qoveh” from the village of “Kulijeh,” and “Nazanin Elyasi” from Mahabad.
According to the report, Ms. Elyasi was arrested after being summoned to the Intelligence Office in Mahabad.
It is worth noting that on Sunday, December 15, 2024, at least 11 Kurdish citizens named “Zaniar SeyedAhmadi, Osman (Showaneh) JahaniFar, Ayoub Rasouli, Qader KharamanFar, Siamand SeyedAhmadi, Kamal Masoudi, Jalal Sadafi, Yousef Qal, Aram Mabzooleh, Rahman Dana, and Ribwar Rasouli,” all residents of Mahabad, were arrested by security forces and subsequently transferred to a security detention center in Orumiyeh for interrogation.
It should also be noted that these arrests were carried out arbitrarily, without presenting any judicial warrants, and in the homes of the detainees by security forces.
