On Wednesday, February 19, 2025, the family and a group of citizens in Divandareh held a ceremony to commemorate the birthday of Fouad Ghadimi, one of the victims of the Woman, Life, Freedom movement.
During the gathering, attendees honored his memory by chanting the slogan: “Fouad is like Newroz, the festival of Kurds is sacred.”
Fouad Ghadimi, a protesting citizen from Divandareh, was shot and wounded by Iranian government forces on Monday, September 19, 2022, during the protests in the city. After two days, on September 21, he succumbed to his injuries at Kowsar Hospital in Sanandaj.
Born on February 20, 1983, Fouad Ghadimi would have turned 43 this year. His family and loved ones marked his birthday while more than two years have passed since his death.
Participants in the ceremony honored his memory by lighting candles, offering flowers, and reciting heroic poetry.
