Hetaw Akrami, from Bukan and resides abroad has been detained

According to reports received by the Hana Human Rights Organization, today, Friday, May 31, 2024, Hetaw Akrami, a resident of Bukan originally from Takab, and a family member of victims of the #Zhina Revolutionary Movement, was violently detained by security forces.

Reports indicate that Ms. Akrami resides abroad and was arrested by security forces upon her return to Iran.

According to a source, the arrest of this Kurdish citizen took place at her family home without any legal documentation and involved the use of violence.

The source added that Ms. Akrami was detained due to her critical posts on Instagram and her pursuit of justice for the death of her cousin.

Hetaw Akrami is the cousin of Mehran Akrami, one of the victims of the #Zhina Revolutionary Movement, who was detained by security forces in Saqqez in November 2022 and died under torture by intelligence forces on March 13, 2024.

Mehran Akrami, 33, from Takab, was an athlete in Taekwondo and had several national championships to his name.
