The Hana Human Rights Organization has learned that on the evening of Friday, 26 March 2026, Farideh Ketabi Miandoab, a resident of Orumiyeh, was arrested by security forces.
Farideh Ketabi Miandoab, born in 1976, is the mother of Sareh Sedighi, an LGBTQ activist and former political prisoner who had previously faced a death sentence.
In a statement to the Hana Human Rights Organization, Sareh Sedighi said that security forces raided her mother’s home without presenting judicial documents, used violence during the arrest, and transferred her to an undisclosed location.
She also expressed concern about her mother’s health, stating that she suffers from diabetes and that lack of access to medication and medical care could seriously endanger her life.
Given the lack of information about her place of detention and physical condition, concerns about her health and safety have intensified. The Hana Human Rights Organization calls for immediate clarification of her situation, guaranteed access to medical care, and full respect for her legal rights.
