According to reports received by the Hana Human Rights Organization:
On Tuesday, February 4, 2025, Hamid Chapati was sentenced to three months of imprisonment by Branch 2 of the Orumiyeh Revolutionary Court, presided over by Judge Shahini, on charges of “propaganda against the regime and disturbing public opinion.”
The verdict was officially communicated to Mr. Chapati’s lawyer on Tuesday, February 18, 2025.
Hamid Chapati, a 36-year-old civil activist from Orumiyeh, was arrested on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, after being summoned to the Orumiyeh Security Police. He was eventually released on temporary bail of 6 billion tomans on October 17, 2024, pending the completion of judicial proceedings.
