Four members of the AVA Media team were released in Orumiyeh after 14 days of detention

The Hana Human Rights Organization has learned that four members of the AVA Media team, who had been arrested by the Intelligence Organization of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps in Sardasht County, were released after spending 14 days in detention at a security detention facility in Orumiyeh County.

According to reports received, on Wednesday, 17 December 2025, Omar Ahmad, known as “Resoka,” a native of Pshdar (Qaladze) County and a journalist with AVA, along with three of his colleagues Mamand Hassanpour, a producer and a citizen from Naqadeh County; Awara Omar, a cameraman from the Kurdistan Region; and the team’s driver, whose first name “Omar” is the only detail made public, were released.

It should be noted that these four individuals had traveled to the area to prepare a report on the Halparke dance festival in Mahabad and to cover the Beyt & Heyran festival in Sardasht County. On the second day of the festival, on 3 December 2025, they were arrested by IRGC intelligence forces during the event and subsequently transferred to one of the security detention centers in Orumiyeh.
