According to received reports, on the evening of Wednesday, July 23, 2025, two Kurdish citizens—28-year-old Arman Biglari and 29-year-old Pezhman Badri, both from Helilan—lost their lives after being shot at close range by police forces.
A source close to the families stated that the two young men had a verbal altercation in Tohid Park and left the area on a motorcycle. They were subsequently pursued by a police patrol and shot directly from behind without warning. The source emphasized that the victims were unarmed and that there was no armed confrontation.
According to Hana’s sources, the Ilam Provincial Police Command claimed in an official statement that the two individuals were armed and were killed during an exchange of fire following a clash with citizens.
However, a knowledgeable source reported that the families have rejected this claim as “completely fabricated” and described it as a scenario created to justify an extrajudicial killing.
It is worth noting that the victims’ bodies were handed over to their families on Thursday, July 24, 2025, and the funeral is scheduled to take place on Friday in their hometown.
