Extension of the arrest warrant for “Amjad Saedi”, a civil activist from Marivan

Based on the reports received by Hana Human Rights Organization: On Monday, February 6, 2023, the arrest order of “Amjad Saedi”, a civil activist and a resident of Marivan, was extended for another 15 days by the Intelligence Department of this city.

The reason for his arrest was not stated, but it is believed to be related to his activism in promoting human rights and fighting against corruption and social injustices in Marivan.

Since his arrest, Amjad Saedi has been denied access to his family and legal representation. His physical condition has worsened due to the lack of medical attention and poor prison conditions.

Hana Human Rights Organization strongly condemns this extension of the arrest warrant and calls on the authorities to immediately release Amjad Saedi and allow him to receive the necessary medical treatment. The organization also demands an end to the systemic human rights violations in Iran, including arbitrary arrests and detentions, and the mistreatment of political prisoners.

The international community should also take notice of these ongoing human rights abuses in Iran and take action to support the voices of the people, like Amjad Saedi, who are courageously fighting for their rights and freedoms.
