Execution of Sajjad Qolizadeh in Sanandaj Prison

According to reports received by the Hana Human Rights Organization, on Wednesday, August 27, 2025 (5 Shahrivar 1404), the death sentence of a Kurdish prisoner identified as Sajjad Qolizadeh was carried out in Sanandaj Prison.

Hana’s sources have confirmed that the prisoner had previously been arrested in 2021 (1400) on charges of premeditated murder during a robbery and was later sentenced to death by the judiciary of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

It is worth noting that in recent months, the number of executions in Iran has risen significantly. According to Hana Human Rights Organization, the Islamic Republic continues to use the death penalty as a tool of repression, and Iran remains one of the countries with the highest execution rates in the world.
