According to reports received by the Hana Human Rights Organization, at dawn on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, the execution of a prisoner identified as Mostafa Hejir Pirooz, a 40-year-old married man from Asadabad, a district of Kermanshah, was carried out in Qezel Hesar Prison, Karaj.
According to Hana’s sources, this prisoner was arrested five years ago on drug-related charges and was subsequently sentenced to death by the judicial system of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Hana has learned that the execution was carried out without informing the prisoner’s family or allowing him a final visit with his relatives.
The Hana Human Rights Organization strongly condemns this act and expresses deep concern over the increasing number of executions in Iran. The organization calls for transparency, respect for the rights of defendants, and an immediate halt to executions in the country.
