According to reports received by the Hana Human Rights Organization, at dawn on Sunday, November 17, 2024, the death sentence of a Kurdish prisoner, identified as “Rahim Faqiri,” son of Sabri and a resident of the village of “Sivadar” in the Shepiran area of Salmas, was carried out in Birjand Central Prison.
Rahim Faqiri, 35 years old, married, and the father of three children, informed his family late last night through a phone call about his transfer to solitary confinement in preparation for his execution. During the call, he asked for their forgiveness.
According to reports, Rahim was arrested about two years ago on charges related to “drug offenses” and was subsequently sentenced to death by the judiciary of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
