According to reports received by the Hana Human Rights Organization:
On Monday, June 23, 2025, Esmail (Semko) Yousefi—a Kurdish language teacher, environmental activist, and resident of Bukan—was temporarily released from Bukan prison after posting bail of 500 million tomans.
According to received reports, Mr. Yousefi was arrested on Monday, May 26, 2025, at his home in Bukan by security forces without a court warrant and with physical violence. He was subsequently transferred to the Orumiyeh Intelligence Office for interrogation, and later moved to Bukan prison.
It is worth mentioning that in recent years, Esmail (Semko) Yousefi has been actively involved in teaching the Kurdish language and environmental protection in Bukan.
