According to reports received by Hana Human Rights Organization, on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, Esmail Hosseinnezhad Heydranlou—the brother of death row prisoner Hamid Hosseinnezhad Heydranlou—attempted suicide by ingesting acid in response to his brother’s transfer to solitary confinement in Orumiyeh Prison for the imminent implementation of his execution.
According to Hana’s sources, Esmail was immediately transferred to a hospital in the city of Khoy and is currently under medical care in the intensive care unit (ICU) of Khoy Hospital.
