Erfan Alizadeh was killed by direct gunfire from repressive forces in Varamin

The Hana Human Rights Organization has learned that during protests in Varamin, a city in the Tehran province, a 24-year-old Kurdish citizen named Erfan Alizadeh, originally from Lumar in Sirvan County, Ilam Province, lost his life after being shot directly by repressive forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

According to received reports, Erfan Alizadeh was targeted by direct gunfire during the protest gatherings in Varamin and died from the severity of his injuries.

The Hana Human Rights Organization, expressing deep concern over the continued use of live ammunition against protesters, considers this act a blatant violation of the right to life and fundamental human rights principles. The organization calls for an independent, transparent, and impartial investigation into the circumstances of Erfan Alizadeh’s killing and demands that those responsible and the commanders behind this incident be held accountable in accordance with international human rights law.
