Eight Kurdish citizens arrested by security forces in Malekshahi

According to reports received from Hana’s colleagues: Eight Kurdish citizens have been arrested by security forces in recent days.

According to this report, on Tuesday, May 17, 2022, two Kurdish citizens, identified as Hassan Gholami, 21, and Mohsen Bavalki, 31 years old, from Malekshahi, Ilam, were detained due to recent protests over rising prices. They were detained by security forces. Also on Wednesday, May 18, 2022, five other citizens identified as "Ruhollah Arghandeh, 27, Yahya Salehi, 32, Massoud Mami, Jaber Mirzaei, and Farshad Khaman, residents of Malekshahi,  were beaten by security forces in Their own homes and they were arrested. Massoud Mami was released on Thursday after a day of temporary detention, but the other detainees were taken to an unknown location. According to the same report, on Thursday, May 19, 2022, Ruhollah Darqash, 34, from Malekshahi, was abducted by security forces and his fate is still unknown.  It should be noted that these citizens were attacked and beaten by security forces when they were arrested, one of these citizens, identified as Ruhollah Arghand, suffered a fractured chest area and was taken to a hospital for medical treatment, and after the hospital, according to the court's ruling, he was held in Ilam Central Prison for a period of one month.
