According to reports received by Hana Human Rights Organization, on Sunday, February 16, 2025, three Kolbars identified as Ahmad Mahmoudi (married, father of two, from Abolhasan village), Mohammad Hasani (from Baneh), and Arsalan Omidi (from Mahabad) were directly targeted by gunfire from security forces of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq at the “Marawi” border. As a result, one of the Kolbars was injured.
Hana’s investigations confirm that the injured Kolbar is Ahmad Mahmoudi, who was shot in the back. The two other Kolbars were arrested. The wounded Kulbar has been transferred to a hospital in Sulaymaniyah for treatment.
It is noteworthy that, despite efforts by the families of these Kolbars to obtain information about their loved ones, there has been no response, and the Sulaymaniyah security forces have refused to provide any information regarding their condition.
