Hana Human Rights Organization has learned that Amir Sidi, 28, a civil and social activist from Mahabad, was forced to leave Iran due to ongoing pressure and threats from security agencies.
According to reports, Amir Sidi had previously been arrested and interrogated on charges of cooperating with political and human rights organizations.
Continuous security pressures, threats of re-arrest, and severe restrictions on his social activities made life increasingly difficult for him, ultimately forcing him into exile.
Reports received by Hana further indicate that civil and social activists in Mahabad face similar conditions and are exposed daily to the risks of arbitrary arrest, torture, psychological pressure, and exile.
The extensive restrictions and repressive security atmosphere have severely limited the space for civil and human rights activities, creating major obstacles to the defense of citizens’ rights.
Hana Human Rights Organization considers these actions a clear violation of fundamental human rights principles and calls for the urgent attention of international institutions, human rights organizations, and the global community to the situation of civil activists in Mahabad and other regions of Iranian Kurdistan.
