Burhan Saeedi, a labor activist from Sanandaj, was sentenced to two years in prison

According to the reports received by HANA Human Rights Organization: on Monday, July 24, 2023, Burhan Saeedi, a Kurdish labor activist from Sanandaj, was charged by the first branch of the Revolution Court of this city, headed by Judge Saeedi, on the charge of “gathering and colluding against the country’s national security.” He was sentenced to two years in prison and the sentence was suspended for four years.

Mr. Saeedi was arrested on Thursday, May 18, 2023, after being summoned to the Sanandaj Intelligence Office, and then on June 17, 2023, he was temporarily released from Sanandaj prison with a bail of 500 million tomans until the end of the proceedings.
