According to reports received by the Hana Human Rights Organization, on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, a rebar specialist identified as Shahab Moradi, a 39-year-old resident of Bukan, fell to his death while working on a six-story building in the city of Bukan. Shahab Moradi was married and the father of one child.
The lack of proper oversight by authorities regarding workplace practices and safety, as well as the negligence of employers, are among the primary causes of unsafe working conditions. This situation has placed Iran at 102nd in global workplace safety rankings, making it one of the most dangerous countries for workers.
