According to reports received by Hana Human Rights Organization, Azizeh Moradian, 50 years old, from Tengisar village, Sanandaj County, and a resident of Marivan, has been on a hunger strike since Monday, 22 December 2025, at the Sanandaj Juvenile Correction and Rehabilitation Center, in protest against her continued arbitrary detention and the lack of access to adequate medical care.
According to informed sources, this detainee suffers from a chronic stomach condition and required medical care and follow-up even prior to her arrest. However, since her detention, the authorities of the Sanandaj Juvenile Correction and Rehabilitation Center have failed to take any effective measures to treat her condition or transfer her to specialized medical facilities.
The source added that Ms. Moradian’s physical condition has deteriorated in recent days, and the continuation of the hunger strike alongside the absence of medical attention could pose a serious threat to her health and life.
It should be noted that Azizeh Moradian was arrested on Monday morning, 1 December 2025, by security forces without the presentation of a judicial warrant at her workplace.
