Azim Yadegari a Kurdish citizen from Dehloran has been arrested by security forces in Tehran

According to reports received by the Hana Human Rights Organization:
On Wednesday, May 14, 2025, Azim Yadegari, a Kurdish citizen from Dehloran in Ilam province, was arrested by security forces at his private residence in Tehran and transferred to an undisclosed location.

According to a knowledgeable source, his arrest followed several prior summonses and is related to the enforcement of his prison sentence. As of the time of this report, there is no information regarding his whereabouts or current condition.

Azim Yadegari had previously been arrested during the “Womam, Life, Freedom” revolutionary movement along with six other Kurdish citizens from Ilam — Naser Rezaei, Mohammad Hassan Haseli, Saadollah Aeini, Hossein Bapirvand, Farshad Aeini, and Dr. Bakhtiar Mohammadzadeh. They were collectively sentenced by the Islamic Republic’s judiciary to a total of 52 years of discretionary imprisonment.

It is noteworthy that Mr. Yadegari was sentenced to 10 years in prison in this case.
