According to Hana Human Rights Organization:
On Tuesday, July 1, 2025, Ayhan Ebrahimi, a Kurdish citizen from Orumiyeh, was arrested to serve his prison sentence and transferred to the city’s central prison.

According to informed sources, this citizen had been sentenced to one year of discretionary imprisonment by Branch 2 of the Revolutionary Court of Orumiyeh, presided over by Judge Shahini, after his previous sentence was overturned by the Supreme Court.

As reported, his case had previously been reviewed by Branch 39 of the Supreme Court of Iran, which overturned the initial six-year sentence issued by Branch 3 of the Revolutionary Court of Orumiyeh, and referred the case back to an equivalent branch for retrial.

Ayhan Ebrahimi, a 29-year-old nursing graduate from Gilan University of Medical Sciences, had originally been sentenced in early September 2024 to six years in prison by Branch 3 of the Revolutionary Court of Orumiyeh, under Judges Barzegar and Najafzadeh, on charges of “membership in opposition groups against the Islamic Republic of Iran.”

He had been previously arrested on July 8, 2024 without a judicial warrant and with the use of violence at his parents’ home. Following 10 days of interrogation at the Intelligence Detention Center in Orumiyeh, he was transferred to the city’s central prison and was eventually released on bail of 2 billion tomans.
