According to reports received by the Hana Human Rights Organization, on Saturday, August 8, 2025, Yazdan Khezayi, a Kurdish citizen from Kangavar County, Kermanshah Province, and a member of families seeking justice, was summoned to the Revolutionary Court of Shahriar County, then arrested by security forces and transferred to an unknown location.
Yazdan Khezayi is the brother of Erfan Khezayi, who was killed by direct gunfire from government forces on Wednesday, September 21, 2022, during the “Jin, Jiyan, Azadi” movement in Shahriar.
According to received information, Yazdan Khezayi had previously been summoned and threatened on September 10, 2023, along with his father, Hatam Khezayi, his brother Ehsan Khezayi, and Neda Kargar, his brother’s wife, by the Shahriar Intelligence Department.
Furthermore, Ehsan Khezayi and Neda Kargar were arrested on July 14, 2025, by the Shahriar Intelligence Department.
These arrests come amid ongoing pressure and threats from security forces and the judiciary of the Islamic Republic of Iran against the Khezayi family over the past two years, due to their pursuit of justice and truth regarding the killing of Erfan Khezayi.
