According to Hana colleagues: On Monday, January 27, 2025, Parvin Edavei, a women’s rights activist and civil activist from the village of “Selin” near Marivan, was arrested by security forces and transferred to an unknown location.
Parvin Edavei had previously been arrested in August 2019 by Marivan Intelligence forces and released after three months on a bail of 500 million tomans.
She was sentenced to five years in prison by the Marivan Revolutionary Court for “membership in one of the Kurdish opposition parties against the Iranian government,” and this sentence was reduced to one year in the appellate court.
This women’s rights activist was arrested on January 30, 2020, to serve her one-year sentence and transferred to the Rehabilitation and Training Center in Sanandaj. She was eventually granted amnesty on April 7, 2020, after about six months of serving her sentence at Sanandaj Central Prison and was released.
