According to reports received by the Hana Human Rights Organization: On Monday, August 4, 2025 (13 Mordad 1404), Ayoub Javanpour, a civil activist from Saqqez and a former detainee of the “Woman, Life, Freedom” movement, was arrested by security forces and transferred to the city’s prison. This arrest comes despite the fact that on the evening of Sunday, August 3 (12 Mordad), he was attacked and severely injured by a Salafi group.
Ayoub Javanpour has been arrested and tortured multiple times by security agencies in recent years. In September 2017 (Shahrivar 1396), he was arrested for participating in a rally supporting the Kurdistan Region’s independence referendum. He was arrested again on August 25, 2022 (3 Shahrivar 1401), during the “Woman, Life, Freedom” uprising, and was later released on bail.
